| Korean Hand Therapy (KHT) - Level 1 for PractitionersRegistration closed (future dates to be announced soon for 2025)KHT Basic Level 1 Course is the first course in a series to master a powerful and accessible microsystem in the hands. There are numerous Microsystems, but the KHT Hand system offers a broader application for treating your patients beyond correspondence therapy. It contains a full map of the body acupoints on each hand. Almost any treatment you do for the body can be applied to the hand, including command points, mu and shu points, extraordinary channels, and more! While needles can be used in KHT, you can perform a complete treatment without needles. This inclusivity allows your practice to work with children and patients who may be averse to needles, ensuring that everyone can benefit from KHT. Most of all, your patients can apply your recommended treatments at home between appointments. This course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of KHT. It will cover the origin of KHT, correspondence therapy, and basic therapy protocols. Additionally, it will introduce you to micro-meridian therapy, 3-constitution diagnosis, and KHT pulse diagnosis (which is covered in depth in advanced levels 2 and 3). All potential tools for diagnosis and treatment will be thoroughly reviewed, including point probes, rings, silver and gold pellets, needles, needle inserters, and moxibustion. (Please note that moxa will not be demonstrated in person to accommodate the venue and any potential sensitivities of students enrolled, but a video of a moxa demonstration will be available. Electric moxa will be demonstrated in person.) Materials Included: Instructional handout and KHT Practitioner Travel Kit (Let's you start using KHT on your way back home!) Curriculum: Check out the curriculum and workshop timeline! The workshop flowed effortlessly as information was presented in a holistic context. Barbara not only clearly taught the KHT method but transmitted it.
Her way of weaving into the presentation of our personal unique healing experiences while using this process was brilliant. She is an outstanding teacher and healer.

Mission
Barbara de la Torre, MD, FAAMA
I left corporate medicine to focus on teaching people to be their own best doctors.
The industrialization of medicine creates casualties for both patients and the healers who serve them. I hope to be a source of support to Eastern and Western healthcare practitioners to help them become more independent and wiser as they navigate through the healthcare system.
Institutions can change how they train doctors, but our legacy as medicine practitioners is how we train people to doctor themselves.
True healing comes from real listening. Third Opinion MD takes the doctor out of the equation and puts you in the driver’s seat. We provide education and an objective lens to examine all the players in the field (hospitals and healthcare organizations, insurance companies, pharma, healthcare workers, cultural norms, and expectations) to guide you toward optimal health and fulfillment.
This is the Third Opinion MD’s evolution, mission, and promise.
